An important read on the ‘sharing’ discourses forming around technology. The article by Prof Julie Powles ‘We the citizens, not mere physical masses of data for harvesting‘  raises questions on the ideological application of computational software we all use. It questions the existing regulatory frameworks produced within current styles of governmentality and suggests that accelerating privateer technological development is shifting power from the legitimacy and trust of the social contract between citizens/state. Below I have embedded the lecture given by Prof Cohen at London School Of Economics on the 11th March 2015.
